Data Deletion

How to have a preview taken down, how to have your whole account deleted, how to stop our emails, and what we have to keep.
What this page is
This page explains how to have Nexus Media LLC dba FirstGen delete your information. It goes with the Privacy Policy (firstgen.dev/legal/privacy). There are two levels: taking down a preview we built, and deleting a customer's whole account. Both are described below, along with what happens to the public information we gathered and to our emails.
Taking down a preview
If we built a preview of your business at {name}.firstgen.site and you don't want it, email support@firstgen.dev or reply to the email we sent you. Tell us the business name or the preview's address.
When we take it down:
The preview stops loading immediately.
The preview's content and the public information we gathered for it are deleted from our live database within 7 days.
We stop any emails about it and add your address to our do-not-contact list.
Nothing is charged. A preview never costs anything unless you check out.
If you change your mind later, ask us to build it again and we'll start fresh.
Deleting your whole account
If you're a customer, ask in either of two ways:
Email support@firstgen.dev from the email address on your account, with "Delete my account" in the subject.
Open the Help page in your dashboard at app.firstgen.dev and send us the request from there.
We confirm it's you. If the request comes from the account's own email address or from inside the signed-in dashboard, that's enough. Otherwise we'll reply to the address on the account and ask you to confirm.
Then we delete everything listed below from our live database within 7 days and email you to confirm. Our providers' backups that still hold deleted rows roll off within 30 days. If you're still subscribed, deletion also ends the subscription, so we'll check with you first.
What we delete
Your site, its content, photos and extra pages, and the preview it started from.
Your sign-in and the custom domain connection.
Your edit history: every change you asked for in the chat and our reply.
Messages sent through your site's contact form.
Help requests and support conversations.
Visit and activity records for your site and your use of the dashboard.
The public listing data, reviews and website check we gathered to build the site.
Your record in our customer list.
Your Stripe customer record's saved card. Stripe keeps its own transaction records under its own policy.
Your custom domain stays yours. We remove it from our hosting so you can point it elsewhere.
What we have to keep
Invoices and payment records, for 7 years, as tax law requires. They hold your business name, email, the amounts and the dates, nothing else.
The record of your agreement to the terms at checkout, for as long as a dispute about them is possible.
Your email address and domain on our do-not-contact list, so we never email you again.
We don't keep anything else once a deletion is done.
Public information we gathered
To build a preview, we gathered what your business has made public: your Google Maps listing (name, address, phone, hours, category, photos, rating and recent reviews), your website and a speed check of it, your public Facebook and Instagram pages, and the business email address published on one of them.
Deleting the preview or the account deletes our copy of all of it on the timelines above. It doesn't change the original listing, website or social pages, which stay under your control.
Asking us not to gather it again. Tell us at support@firstgen.dev and we'll add your business to our do-not-contact list, which our tools check before building a preview or sending an email.
Stopping our emails
Reply to any email we sent you saying you'd like us to stop, or write to support@firstgen.dev. We stop the sequence right away and add your address to our do-not-contact list. Sign-in, billing and payment emails only go to customers, and stop when the account is deleted.
FirstGen never sells or shares email addresses. The do-not-contact list is the one thing we keep after a deletion, because without it we couldn't promise not to email you again.
Reviews and photos on a site
Owners can remove any review or photo from their site in the dashboard chat, or by emailing support@firstgen.dev. A removed review or photo stops showing on the site right away. Reviews stay on Google, which we don't control.
If you sent a message through a site we host
The business whose site it is controls your message. Ask them first. If you email support@firstgen.dev instead, we'll pass your request to them and delete our copy when they confirm, or sooner if the law requires. We'll never use your request to contact you ourselves.
If you're quoted in a review
Reviews on a site are quoted from the business's public Google Business Profile with your public reviewer name. To have your review removed from a site we host, ask the business owner, or email support@firstgen.dev with the site's address and we'll remove it from the site. To change or delete the review itself, do it on Google.
If you only visited the website
The fg_visitor cookie expires when you close your browser. To clear it sooner, clear cookies for FirstGen in your browser.
Visit and activity records tied to a link we emailed you: email support@firstgen.dev with the email address we wrote to, and we'll delete them.
After you cancel
When you cancel, your site stays live to the end of the month you paid for, then pauses. A paused site stays saved for 60 days, then we delete it, or sooner if you ask as this page describes. The Data Processing Addendum (firstgen.dev/legal/dpa) says the same for your visitors' messages.
